SGIS supports the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) by providing a wide array of administrative, financial, scheduling, budgeting, information technology professionals, and program management specialists. The JPL Temporary Support Effort Personnel (TSEP) contract focuses on all facets of support for the laboratory. SGIS has provided support to JPL on over two hundred and fifty separate task orders (TOs). Detailed below are a few sample tasks that SGIS is currently providing support to the lab. SGIS personnel support the Small Business Innovative Research Program (SBIR) by initiating processes for and tracking results of research proposals, performing research and creating reference notebooks on selected universities, their capabilities, and JPL’s partnerships. We also collect and maintain action item lists, status reports, and master schedule of events for various organizations. We have over thirty full-time secretaries who support many divisions across the lab. They are responsible for taking minutes and writing summaries for meetings, providing secretarial support including scheduling, meeting arrangements, travel arrangements/reports, phones, correspondence, and presentations. We are also responsible for maintaining a library of documents on the Office of Chief Scientist website, as well as arranging seminars including travel arrangements for visitors.
SGIS also supports the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) by providing a wide array of automated information system (AIS) professionals including engineers, scientists, and Information Technology (IT) and program management specialists. The JPL Temporary Support Effort Personnel (TSEP) contract focuses on all facets of AIS from concept development to life-cycle maintenance. Our professional employees are working side-by-side with their JPL counterparts to provide real-time, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government off-the-shelf (GOTS) solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic IT environment. SGIS has been very successful at providing active secret and top-secret personnel with the specialized skill sets necessary to complete JPL’s IT and communications missions. Our people are involved in providing solutions in the areas of cost benefit analysis, product analysis, system development and testing, maintenance (hardware and software) and system administration. SGIS provides services that augment the JPL employee work force when the scope of work for Laboratory efforts temporarily exceeds the capabilities of its employed staff. SGIS holds a prime role on this contract used by the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory to fulfill Scientific, Engineering, Software Development and supportive needs to assist in bringing to fruition the vision of space exploration.
